Feeling Crafty

With the birth of our little man coming closer I've been stressing about having the nursery complete. The walls have been bare and I've needed some better organization for all his things. Ashley found this tutorial and I fell in love. The tutorial used plastic embroidery hoops but I chose to use the wooden ones and then stained them. I just used push pins to secure them for now because I am not sure if I am in love with how I positioned them yet. I've considered putting them on another wall over a shelf like the tutorial shows.. You'll have to tell me what you think. I just can't decide, but I love them.

it's hard to tell from the picture but the brown one does have a pattern, it's not just a solid brown :)I added the blue bin things to organize his receiving blankets, burp cloths, and bibs. I also need a cover for the changing table pad.

Rosie is a bit concerned as to why I spend so much time in this room.. she definitely knows something is up.

I have extra fabric that I am trying to decide what to do with. Any suggestions? Maybe I should finish his quilt first before starting something new. The quilt is so intimidating though.

Utah Trip- Week 2

Night of day 8: Phil flew into Utah and we went straight to a Bees baseball game. The Bees lost but it was still fun to hang out with my family
Day 9: Phil's Mom and Bob rented a house in Lehi for us all to stay. It was so fun to see Phil's sisters and their kids. We went to Quilted Bear, BYU campus, bowling, and hung out at the house.

the kids loved swimming in the jacuzzi

Annie was Phil's buddy the whole weekend. She is such a character.

Day 10: We met up with Phil's Dad and picked up Todd and Brad from the airport. We had KFC at Sugarhouse Park and let the kids run free.
left to right: Heidi, Grandma Harrison, Phil's Dad, Natalie, Phil and Todd.

Phil's Mom and sister put together a little shower for me and Natalie. She is due the end of September with a little girl. We cannot wait to see our kids play together.

Grandpa Ewell was in town from California so we got everyone together for some fun. I sure have missed seeing him.

The boys had some fun arm and leg wrestling

I loved seeing my Grandpa so happy

Day 14: We took my cute cousins out for lunch and then prepared for Ashley's baby shower. While I threw Ash's shower (at Heather's House), Phil hung out at Josh and Morgan's.

Utah Trip- week 1

I flew out alone for the 1st week and then Phil was able to join me for the 2nd week in Utah. We packed in so much fun it's hard to narrow down the pictures.

day1: Courtney and Tricia surprised me with a mini (not really mini considering what they gave me) baby shower.Me with all my loot. They made most of the gifts including the sweet snuggie I am wearing.

A few gifts they made: onesies (there are 8 more and all have different applique), burp cloths, binky holder, and a quiet book.

Day 2 and 3: I hung out with my family and went to Lagoon. No worries I didn't ride any rides. It was my Dad's work party so we just went up for a few hours to hang out and eat.
Mom and Dad above. Britt and I below. Brittany and Chris were fun and stayed the whole day to go on the rides.
Day 4: My baby shower

My Grandma, Mom, Aunts, and Sisters put together a shower for me while in Utah. Luckily Phil's mom decided to drive out to Utah or we never would have got all baby's thoughtful gifts home. Unfortunately we forgot to take pictures so we only have a few. Thank you to all that came, I wished I had capture you all.

Amber, Heather, Ashley, and Me.

Me with Carly (we've been friends since elementary) not the best picture of me but doesn't she look hot!
All the yummy food, desserts, and party favors.

Day 5-8: Ashley and I went to Las Vegas as a little trip before our babies join us. We are 7 weeks apart and she is having a little girl. On our drive up a rain and hail storm got in our way. Who knew it could hail in Nevada in the middle of August?

We did lots of shopping, hanging out by the pool, got pedicures and ate yummy food.

We drove back to Utah early Wednesday morning (day 8). Phil flew in that night and we had another week of fun. Post will come soon.

Baby Update- 32 weeks

Last doctor appointment (3 weeks ago) baby boy was measuring a bit large. I had an ultrasound this morning to see just how large he really is. It turns out he is almost 5 pounds (what a little chunk). The ultrasound was so neat and he was so active.

top to bottom: profile view with his arm in his mouth. Front view with his mouth wide open.

top to bottom: back view, can you believe how much hair he has? 4D image: the ultrasound tech was having so much fun with my wiggly little guy that she did a 4D ultrasound for FREE. It was so neat. Doesn't he look squished in there? I love his little open mouth.

We are so glad baby is healthy and definitely growing. As for me the doctor thinks that preeclampsia is possible. I have been swelling more, blood pressure was high again, and they found protein in my urine today (lovely). I go back on Tuesday to see my fate. If my blood pressure is high again I might be spending the rest of my pregnancy on bed rest. While bed rest won't be loads of fun at least I will be taking care of the little one. The doctor wants to get me to 37 weeks. Which is crazy because that means I might have a little boy in my arms in 5 weeks

We cannot wait to meet the little one. Wish us luck with the next few weeks.

recently..

Phil has been pretty busy with work the past few weeks so we took advantage of the 3 day weekend he just had. We relaxed at the pool on Friday, ran some errands, and did some fun little projects. Saturday we went to Galveston and played on the beach. We had so much fun and kept saying all day, "I can't believe we haven't done this before". Of course my camera died after taking 2 pictures. I will share them but they are not the greatest :).

Here are a few little projects we have been working on.

for little boys room.. I want to get a shelf or something to put them on.

I made this sign a little while ago and put it in our front room on the bookcase.

We started a bigger project Saturday night using these fabrics... can you guess what it's for? yep a quilt for baby. Wish me luck :)
