2 weeks

Wes had his 2 week appointment this past Thursday. He did so good and didn't even cry when they took his blood. What a tough little boy!

His stats-

Weight: 8 lbs 4 oz and 50th percentile (born at 8 lbs 12 oz and left the hospital at 7 lbs 15 oz)

Length: 20.5 inches... wait wasn't he 21 inches at birth? Yep that's right somehow he is shrinking... His back was arching when they measured him and they didn't seem to care that he got "shorter". Should we be concerned? Maybe I will measure him to check for accuracy :)

life as of lately

We cannot get enough of our little guy. It has been so fun hanging out just the 3 of us ( oops I should say 4, Rosie would be offended if not). I'm so thankful to Phil's work for letting him take off during such a busy month. I've been in a lot of pain and couldn't have done the past week without him. We love taking pictures of Wes and trying to capture as many moments as we can. Here are some for your enjoyment.
Wesley's LOVES laying on his Dad's chest
not very happyAah, much better.. ya my week old baby is clutching a rattle.. ha ha
First family outing.. Can you tell how concerned Rosie is with Wesley's well being?
Me toting Wes around and looking a little tired...
Just chilling with Dad
He loves his car seat.. I cannot get enough of his cute yawns.
So sleepy after eating
I think this is Wes telling me "enough pictures mom". He looks a little annoyed ha ha. We sure love him.

Heaven

The past few days have been amazing. We are loving being home with our little man. He is so sweet, we cannot keep our eyes off of him. Here are a few of the many tender moments I have enjoyed.
I LOVE how he muscled one arm out of his swaddle.
Seeing Phil with Wes melts my heart. He is such a good Dad.
Seriously cannot get enough of his one sock look. Cutest thing ever!

He sucks on EVERYTHING. Don't let him fool you, he gets plenty of food. I love how he has his hands under the straps of his car seat.
Working towards recovery by taking walks with these three. So fun having Phil home.

Introducing Wesley Grant

Wesley Grant Harrison born October 7th at 6:20pm. Measuring in at 8 pounds 12 ounces and 21 inches tall. We cannot keep our eyes off of him. He is such a sweetie. Here is recap of that beautiful day.
On our way to the hospital to get induced.
Playing the waiting game... 12 hours of labor
Phil ready to go with all his gear. Dr. made the call for a c-section.
First family picture. I was so out of it I could barley keep my eyes open.
Wesley getting all cleaned up.
Finally holding my boy after being in recovery for a few hours.
Wesley loves laying on his Dad's chest
A proud father.
Sweet baby boy. We are so in love with him.
Now I'm trying to recover from surgery. If everything goes as planned we should be home by tomorrow afternoon.

Safety First

Rosie loves car rides. We figured since baby is only days away from being here that we better figure out a safer way to take Rosie in the car. It's only fair that if baby has to have a car seat that she should as well. This was taken her first time in it and we were surprised that she likes it so much. I do think she misses sitting on our lap in the front seat but that's really not that safe, especially with a baby in the car. It'll be funny to see Rosie and baby boy sitting in the back in their safety seats. Oh the things we do for our dog... she is so spoiled!

Baby Boy Update

1st- We really need to choose a name for baby boy because he is going to be here soon and I think he'd be upset if we called him "baby boy" forever.

2nd- My blood pressure was high at my 38 week appointment which worried my Dr and made me go back to the office 2 days later. Luckily it went back down but I have been told to "be a slug". Dr says it's a form of bed rest just not as restrictive :)

3rd- Since my blood pressure has been up and down the whole pregnancy my Dr doesn't want to "risk me blowing up" (his exact words) so... he set a date for me to be induced! We will go in Thursday, October 7th at 6am. That will be exactly 39 weeks unless baby decides to come earlier on his own. We are so anxious to meet our little guy and can't believe how soon he will be in our arms.

4th- We are so blessed to have a wonderful Dr. We love how open and honest he is with us and his good sense of humor makes everything more comfortable.

5th- (This really should be the first thing because it's so awesome.) Phil gets to take off 3 weeks straight after baby is born. We are so excited to have that time to get to know our little guy and figure out being parents together.

In the meantime... We will enjoy our last days as just the two of us.
