A few of my close friends and I took a little girls trip to celebrate Julia turning 30. It was a much needed trip and so fun to be able to talk without the kids. We went to this resort in Conroe called La Torretta. We went out for a nice dinner, shared wedding videos/photos, stayed up later than any of us have in a LONG while, had yummy cupcakes, and did facials. The resort was beautiful but unfortunately it was chilly so we didn't actually get to swim or lay out. I think this needs to be a yearly event.

Todd's Birthday
Mom and Bob were out of town on Todd's birthday so we had him over and had a fun little celebration. Wesley sure loves his Uncle Todd and I love the little bond they have. We picked up Spring Creek BBQ and I made a chocolate cake, which was really yummy :). A few days after Todd's birthday, we celebrated again with Phil's parents.
At Mom and Bob's with the beloved cookie cake.

Blue Bell Fun Run
This was our first year participating in the Blue Bell Fun Run AND my first 5k. We had a blast and will definitely do it next year. Both boys passed out during the run and Wes woke up just in time to eat some ice cream at the end. Best part about the Blue Bell run was the free ice cream at the end :). We got up pretty early to make the drive, so the boys were still in their pajamas.
Easter Weekend
Easter weekend was amazing! Saturday I made 48 cupcakes for my young women, friends and family. Later that night, Mom and Bob joined us for some egg dying. Wes loved it and as you can see by the pictures, thoroughly enjoyed his cupcake!
Sunday we woke up and let the boys go through their Easter baskets. Wes was pretty excited about his loot and Owen thought it was the greatest. We got everyone swimsuits and then a few random things like coloring books, books and surprisingly no candy (except Phil got his traditional bag of Jelly Belly's). After opening baskets we quickly got ready for church and enjoyed a beautiful Easter program. I am so thankful for our Savior and for the Atonement. After church we headed over to Mom and Bob's for a beautiful dinner, an indoor egg hunt since it was pouring rain, and a few short videos on our Savior.
Side note: I'm not big on the Easter Bunny. I love Easter baskets but the scary looking bunny at the mall, no thanks. It also doesn't feel natural for me to say, "the Easter bunny came". So instead we said something like, "there is a surprise in the family room for you". Maybe that's weird, but it's me.
