Oh yeah Christmas was a month ago

I am so behind on my blogging.

Our Christmas was wonderful. We enjoyed having Phil home for 2 weeks and dreaded the day after New Years when he had to go back to work and mark the first day of busy season. We can talk about that in another post.

Christmas Eve was spent having a picnic with Marsha and Bob, Owen tried bananas for the first time, and we had an AMAZING dinner that Marsha cooked. Seriously she went all out. I need to get pictures from Bob because somehow I didn't take any! After dinner we tried doing our own Nativity with puppets. Wes wasn't too into it much but we really want our kids to know the meaning of Christmas. After that we watched a few short movies on Christ and changed the boys into their Christmas pjs.

I made this 12 days of Christmas years ago for Phil and decided to dust it off and go another round. Some days were better than others but I tried.

It was so fun having a 2 year old this Christmas. We kept thinking of things he'd like and what would excite him. His Christmas consisted mainly of Thomas the Train and Legos with some books and learning activities thrown in there. Owen got some new bamboo muslin blankets, and some car seat toys. Christmas is so much different with kids, it's magical! After we opened presents Phil's family came over for breakfast.

Later that afternoon we booked it to the airport and flew to Utah. It was so nice waking up in our own home but still getting to see my family on Christmas!

Ugly Sweater Party

We has so much fun last year doing an ugly sweater party that Ashley and I decided to go another round! We are so glad we did! It is so fun to get together with friend and be silly. This year we had the party at our house. We had about 20 guests, lots of yummy food (that our guests were kind to bring), I did a hot chocolate bar and cake balls and Ashley made these awesome sweater cookies and was in charge of the games. She kind of made up a cranium like game and it was hilarious. Love having fun friends to do these things with.

We decided to make our own sweaters this year. Phil was pretty proud of his.

Mike made his sweater too!

The hostesses, seriously this gal is the funnest person to throw a party with. Love her!

This picture makes me want to laugh and throw up at the same time. Not sure why they chose this awkward stance, and their sheepish grins seem a little chester-ish. After tallying the votes it was a landslide for Phil (1st) and Mike (2nd) I felt dumb giving our husband the prizes so they got the ribbons and then we had 3rd and 4th place winners for the real prizes.

I will spare all the guests and not post their pictures. However, they were awesome and I am so glad they participated and made this night fun.
