Our past week (captured by the cell phone)

1. & 2. Making goofy faces and playing peek-a-boo in the car seat
3. Rainy/stormy day spent watching Toy Story 3
4. Water damage caused by previously mentioned rain storm
5. & 6. Making cookies to pass the time since it was STILL raining and to cheer us up about the water damage
7. Excited to eat said cookies the next day while it rained some more
8. & 9. Having to run errands when it finally cleared up for a few hours with a grumpy boy (no he isn't supposed to have his binky outside of his crib but you do what you gotta do).
10. All the kids sitting on Mom's lap while another storm came through (let's be honest there isn't much lap there anymore.. baby belly is getting large).
11. Wesley trying to hide his binkies and silkies in his rocket ship (also inside are lots of cars, Rosie's toys, and buzz of course).
12. Enjoying a new toy from my sweet Young Women (technically it's for baby brother but try telling Wes that).
13. & 14. Throwing a tantrum in the car and then crashing moments later
15. Enjoying a slurpee while mom shops (so peaceful)
16. Watching Finding Nemo on yet another rainy day.

If you didn't catch the theme of the week was RAIN and lots of it. Not the best for our house or social life but our grass sure is happy.

21 Months

I feel like I just barely did a post for Wesley's 20 month mark. This summer is going by so fast and we really cannot believe Wes will be a big brother in 5 1/2 weeks. Are we ready? Not really.. but that's for another post.

Lately Wesley:

  • Has mastered the word NO. He uses it all the time- to tell me what he doesn't want to eat, what he doesn't want to do, says no-no to Rosie when she barks, etc.. he loves this word.
  • Obsessed with letters (hence the inspiration to the letter wall in his room). He points out letters everywhere we go. We were at Sams club the other day and he ran over to the ICE cooler and pointed out the E and kept saying E-E-E-E. He was so excited.
  • Favorite letters include B, E, M, O and P. Whenever he sees one of these letter he points them out or makes their sound.
  • Started making the sound for monkey and bear.
  • Is getting really good at communicating with us using a mixture of words and signs.
  • Loves books.. we probably read at least 20 books a day.
  • Still obsessed with Cars and Toy Story
  • Has to close any open door
  • Feels like it's his duty to make sure the dryer is always running (even when clothes aren't in there)
  • Loves swimming
  • Makes goofy faces all day long- he thinks it's hilarious
  • Loves "helping" me with dinner, dishes and laundry
  • Plays catch with Rosie
  • Turns into destruct-o when he is too tired or hungry
  • Enjoys playing chase with his Dad. The other day he grabbed Phil's hand and dragged him out to the family room to chase after him- so cute.
Wes is looking and acting more like a big boy everyday. He is growing and learning so fast. Wes definitely keeps us on our toes.

Here are some recent pictures of our crazy kid!

Excited about a package his Auntie Heather sent him

He really wanted to be in the attic with Phil. He actually made it to the top of the ladder, scary.

 Loves block

This picture really captures how goofy he is

The vet had a chalk board for him to color on and he love it.

There was a down pour while we we at the vet. When we came out Wes thought jumping in puddles was the best thing ever.

And some fun instagram pictures

I asked him to smile and this is what I got.

I love his sleeping position

Best buddies with his Daddy

Enjoys sitting in his toy box while he plays.

He didn't like when the Dr took Rosie out of the room at the vet. He was very concerned about his dog.

Cell phone photo dump

My best bud

I asked him if he wanted to watch a movie and he grabbed all 3 of his favorite blankets to cuddle with.

Patiently waited at the dentist while we got our teeth cleaned. I love his Buzz obsession.

We moved Wesley to a new room so that baby could be in the room closer to us. We had high hopes to put him in a toddler bed but after a few weeks of trying we realized he just isn't ready. Ever since we moved his crib into the room and put up this alphabet wall I made he has been extremely happy in his new room. Seriously this kid is obsessed with letters.

The pool has been my saving grace lately. Wesley has a blast and my pregnant body gets a little break while relaxing in the water.

We got rained out at the pool one day so we had our picnic lunch in the family room.

I love the relationship Phil and Wesley have. He sure loves his daddy.

Some of his goofy faces he's been making.

Wesley loves having a green smoothie for breakfast. He gets so excited when I make them.

At Grandma's on the 4th of July (having another Buzz moment).

Loves the train table at the bookstore

Lazy morning

He got a free balloon and was so happy about it.

This particular day he didn't want to run errand anymore. We went right home after this last meltdown and he took a 3 hour nap.
