Mercer Arboretum and Botanic Gardens

The week before Easter we went with a playgroup to Mercer Arboretum and Botanic Gardens. Wes had a blast hunting for eggs and playing with his friends Andrew and Bradley. The older boys let him join in on their fun on the big swing. He looks a bit nervous in one of the pictures but I kept asking him if he wanted off and he would say "no way, this fun. Sure love that cute guy. Owen was an angel and enjoyed playing on the grass and posing for pictures. You cannot tell by my pictures but the Gardens also had many beautiful flowers.

St. Patrick's Day

If I haven't mentioned it before, I love holidays. I love making traditions and doing fun things for my family on holidays. St Patrick's Day was always celebrated in my family growing up. My mom would make a delicious green dinner and we all looked forward to it. I have been making our own green dinner since we got married and now that Wes is older it is fun to see him get excited about it. This year we had some friends over so join in with the fun. After dinner we went over to Phil's parents house and continued to celebrations.

Wesley Update

It has been too long since I have done an update on Wesley. This kid is too big! He has grown so much  since his 2nd birthday. He really is the sweetest guy. He does know how to push my buttons and how to throw a huge fit but he is quick to say "sorree Mom".

Lately Wesley:
*New favorite shows are Jake and the Neverland Pirate, Peter Pan and Color Crew.
*Loves his brother and tries to make him laugh all the time. He went through a little phase of trying to make him cry by growling at Owen, we are glad that phase is over.
*Loves painting with watercolors.
* Knows all his letters, uppercase and lowercase.
*Can count and recognize numbers 1-10.
*Knows the colors purple, blue, green, yellow, pink, red, white, and brown.
Knows some shapes including triangle, square, circle, star and diamond.

*Asks to "walk walk walk" every time we get somewhere (he doesn't like carts much).
*Asks to go to the store several times a day. He ivs usually talking about Target.
*Has become more independent and loves helping himself in the pantry, fridge, fruit bowl, etc.
*Loves reading books and his favorites right now are Daisy Head Mayzie and Duck for President.
*Picks his nose all the time, it drives me crazy.
*Is the best helper in the kitchen.
*Such a sweet boy who loves giving hugs and kisses.
*Loves nursery and doesn't love Sacrament meeting
*Favorite foods are pasta, watermelon, cheese, raisins, clementines, and pancakes.
*and much more...

At the beginning of February Wes decided he was ready to be a big boy and give up the binky. He only had it at bedtime but was starting to get sneaky with it and I would find him hiding in a corner with the bink. I asked him if he was ready to be big and throw them away. He said "yes" and tossed them in the trash. We were so proud of him! He got to pick out a prize from Target for being a big boy and has done great without it.

Pictures of the celebration for giving up the binky.

Loves taking walks with Rosie.

Always helps clean up the messes he makes.

Wants to be a baby sometimes and do what Owen does.

Is obsessed with Angry Birds and puzzles.

Would be perfectly content swinging the entire time at the park.

Loves playing with bubbles in the kitchen sink.

Crashes in the car almost every time we go out.

Loves his new twin bed.

One day of playing with bubbles turned into a bath for Wesley. He thought bathing in the sink was awesome.

At the zoo the other day Wes was goofing around in the stroller and caused it to tip backwards. He landed mouth first with the stroller on top of him. His mouth was a bloody mess when I first got to him. He is now the proud owner of a chipped front tooth. Luckily they are just baby teeth, right? Saddest thing!
