quick trip

Prepare for a long post:

Phil and I went to Utah for our friend Jimmy's wedding this past weekend (Phil grew up with Jimmy in Houston). We only had a few days so we tried to pack as much in as we could. I'm sorry friends if you are not part of the family or were not at the wedding, we didn't see you. Don't worry though I will be in Utah for 2 whole weeks in August.

Friday I had breakfast with Ashley (of course we didn't take pictures), shopping with my parents that afternoon and then we went to Jimmy's wedding dinner that night.
Jimmy giving some closing thoughts. It was so sweet. They are so happy!

Saturday was the sealing and reception. I snuck in some fun family time in the middle :)

I think she is closing her eyes but I wanted to show how pretty her dress was

Sunday we had a birthday party for my sweet Dad. My sisters, Grandpa and Grandma Hughes, Aunt Tina and family, and Aunt Mindy came. We took lots of pictures but I forgot to get them from him.

Monday we met up with Phil's dad and kids for breakfast. It was so nice to see them and wish we had more time with them.

We hung out with my parents that afternoon and then hopped on a plane back to TX. Rosie was pretty excited to have us home. However I think she was considering staying with Mom and Bob. She had too much fun with the, spoiled dog.

Week of celebrations

Phil and I celebrated his FIRST Father's day and our 3rd wedding anniversary this week. As you may have read in my last post, I was gone at girls camp all week. I had a blast, came home exhausted, and of course forgot my camera so I don't have any pictures. While I was at girls camp he worked, cleaned the house, and somehow found time to make this special surprise for me.Yes, it is for quilting and I cannot wait to get started on a baby blanket. It'll be nice to use this for tying :)

We partied all day Saturday and Sunday for Phil's first Father's Day. Saturday we went to the Nordstom Men's Sale and got him a few new work shirts and shoes. Had lunch at California Pizza Kitchen and finished the night at our neighborhood pool. It felt so good just to relax in the pool after a busy week. Here is a picture of Phil on his way out to work Monday wearing one of his new shirts and new shoes.
Sunday night for dinner I made him a special roast and sweet potato fries. I am so thankful he is my husband and that my son gets him as a Dad. I can't wait for him to teach our son, play with him and take care of him. He is going to be a great dad! Here's a picture of the happy soon-to-be Dad with his Sunday dinner.
I love you Phil!

3 years already?

Tuesday (June 15th) will mark the third year of our marriage! We celebrated early since I will be at Young Women's Camp all week and he will be working. We went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner last night and walked around the Galleria (huge mall). We took the camera but of course forgot to take some pictures. So instead here are some pictures of our journey so far together...

We are so happy to have had the past 3 years together. We cannot wait to have baby boy join us and for the next chapter in our life to begin. Love you Phil!

Memorial Day Weekend

My Mom came in town this past weekend. We really packed in the fun. We went to Fish City, Lupe Tortilla, and Chilis for some yummy food. Shopping at Nordstrom, Pottery Barn Kids, and Target. My mom made a yummy rib dinner and Phil's parents came over to join in on the fun. Phil and I both gave talks in sacrament (not as fun as the shopping and eating, but somehow we found time to prepare them and it was a relief when it was over). Somehow we did all of this and still got our main goal accomplished (to get little mans room done). The baby room took all of Saturday and was more work than we thought but it turned out great and I LOVE it. Here are some pictures of our adventures.

The border was harder than expected to get off
