Day 3

The last day of the trip the boys went snowboarding and the girls went to lunch and got pedicures.

This is the ONLY picture the guys have of snowboarding.

We enjoyed lunch at Zupas. Wesley slept on my chest while I ate and I may or may not have gotten lettuce and soup on him. It's not the easiest way to eat btw.

We loved getting pedicures and if you can't tell it was really relaxing for Wes too
.
When we got home we had a mini photo shoot.

Wes was in LOVE with Heather. Every time he saw her he would light up. I think he loved her crazy singing voices :)

We had so much fun at the cabin with my family. So glad Phil was able to make it. I'll post more stuff from the rest of our trip soon.

Day 2

This years festivities were a little different since Wesley is too young for snowmobiling and snowboarding and Brittany is pregnant (due in May). So while the boys snowmobiled the girls just relaxed at the cabin with Wes. We had a great nap and watched some movies. It was perfect. My parents got the girls matching pajamas and the boy matching shirts. Unfortunately we didn't get any pictures of them.

The boys only took a couple pictures but did get some awesome videos. I'll post them if I can figure it out.

I had to post this picture of Chris. Apparently this happened to them all several times. Thank you Kyle and Heather for providing the snowmobiles.

When the boys got home we enjoyed some enchiladas, played spoons and watched Knight and Day. It was so fun playing spoons with my family. It made me think of the nights we used to play with Gma and Gpa Ewell when I was young. We played 4 full rounds and my Dad even had prizes for the winners!

My parents were so cute with Wes. I have more pictures of my Dad with Wes because he is a bit of a baby hog. I don't think Wes minded though :)

Presidents Day Weekend- Day 1

It's been a tradition in my family to get together and stay at my parent's cabin the weekend of Presidents Day. Phil had only made it out once because of how busy he is in Feb. We were pleasantly surprised this year by his work and Phil was able to join in on the fun. Thanks PwC!

The fun started by picking Phil up from the airport and then we went straight to Hardware Ranch near Logan. We went on a fun sleigh ride and saw lots of elk. It was really neat to be so close to them and apparently 80% of the females were pregnant...crazy! Wes loved being outside and was really interested in the snow falling on his face. Luckily my sisters are good about taking their cameras out or we would have no pictures.

After the sleigh ride we went to dinner at Maddox. Dinner was amazing and we all had too many rolls.

It took us almost 3 hours to make it up to the cabin after dinner because of a crazy snow storm. I was so scared the whole drive that I bit off all my fingernails. I really cannot believe we drove in that storm, it was pretty insane.

V A L E N T I N E

Phil had to work late yesterday so we celebrated early on Saturday and had a date night. Luckily Grandma and Grandpa Decker took Wesley and Rosie so we could have some alone time. We went to a new South Africa restaurant named Peli-Peli. Dinner was delish and it was so nice to spend some time together. Of course we forgot the camera.

Since Phil was working late on V-day I decided to have a little date with Wes. Really I just didn't want to cook so we went to Panera and he watched me eat, ha ha. Later that night we went to Phil's mom's house and hung out. Bob wasn't feeling good so Marsha, Wes, Rosie and I had a fun low key night. Hope you all had a fun day.

Rice Cereal

To add a few calories to Wesley's day Dr. had us start him on solids. This is what he thought of rice cereal the first day. I think he thought I was crazy as if he was saying, "mom I'm just a baby" ha ha. The next day went a lot better and he couldn't get enough of the cereal. Too bad that tongue is in the way because most of it ended up on his bib.

4 Months

I cannot believe Wes is 4 months! He had his checkup today and here are his stats:

Weight: 12 lbs. 7 oz. (6.87% skinny boy)
Height: 2' 1" (51.18%)
Head: 15.94" (10.30%)

Wesley is such a good baby. He has the sweetest demeanor and is the best cuddler.

He sleeps 8-9 hours a night!
Loves sitting in his Bumbo while watching Baby Einstein.
Can roll from tummy to back and has rolled from back to tummy a few times this week!
Loves his hands and always has them in his mouth.
Blankets are his favorite toy.
Smiles and laughs at everyone.
Shows interest in Rosie and watches where she goes.
Has found his legs (not feet yet).
He gets so excited for bath time. He starts to laugh as soon as I turn the water on.
Loves laying around in just his diaper.
Rarely cries but when he does he means business.
and much more...

Here are a few pictures I took today.

After feeding him I laid him on my bed while I got ready. He crashed and looked so relaxed.

After his doctor appointment. He was sad while he got the shots but they don't seem to bug him now. the band-aids make me so sad.

I got him a new toy today after his shots. He loves it and snuggled right up to it.

He kept an eye on Rosie, he was concerned that she would take his toy. She was really jealous of his new toy and wanted it so bad.

Hobby

I love cooking and baking. I think it's so fun to try new recipes and love getting new cookbooks. Recently I've been hooked on these 3 books.

Some of our favorite dinners are from this book. We've enjoyed each dish we've made out of it and I love that each recipe is paired with its nutrition facts.

I just got this book and cannot wait to use it. I have decided to make all of Wesley's food. I think it'll be better nutrition, better taste and better texture than jarred baby food. I cannot wait to get started and love that I will know exactly what is going in his mouth (I.e. no additives, thickeners, or preservatives). Using these freezer trays I will be able to make multiple portions to last the week! Here is a great website that has recipes too.

I have been obsessed with these! They are a nice twist on a cake/cupcakes. Phil and I have made them twice and we even made 100 cake balls for the YW's New Beginnings. I am excited to try something more challenging than the plain cake ball. These treats are so fun and the Young Women LOVED them.

While I enjoy this hobby of mine I am in need of another. Phil is working a ton so I have not been making big dinners as often. Also I've been trying to diet so making fun treats is way too tempting. If you have any suggestions or things you love to do please send them my way!

Snow Day...

...minus the snow...

Phil got to work from home today because the roads
were so dangerous from freezing rain, ice and drivers who are not used to this type of weather. I'm kinda sad we didn't get snow like the weatherman said but it is so nice having Phil home, even if he is busy working.

Wes had fun with Phil while he took a little break from working.

This was taken last night while he played with toys and watched Baby Einstein. I think he was annoyed that I got in the way of his show :)
