Getting brave...

I've had this vinyl quote for a few weeks and have been nervous to put it up. I kept thinking, "I need Phil's help" or "what if I mess it up". Well I put those thoughts aside and did it all by myself and I didn't mess it up! I am very proud of myself. It was actually pretty easy to do but took longer than I thought it would. Yay for bravery!

Frustration

Dear Mall Kiosk Vendors:

I acknowledge and respect that selling the stuff on the kiosk is your job. However, you do not know me, you are not my friend, family member and especially not my husband. Therefore you have no right to call me: pretty girl, girlfriend, cutie, sweet thang, etc. Calling me these names will only frustrate not flatter me. They will also guarantee that I will pass right by your kiosk without a second thought.

Next time I pass by your kiosk please just stand there and smile. Don't call me a flirty name, wave something in my face, or try to shove something in my hand. If I want to visit your stand, I will. If this happens please feel free to see if I need anything. If I end up saying, "no thanks" please respect my decision and don't ask me again.

You don't have to take my suggestions. However if you don't, I will continue to do what I normally do when I see a kiosk. I put my head down, pretend I'm texting someone, or hurry and dig through my purse for something. There may be interesting things on your kiosk that I might like and will never find out unless you change your ways. For now, I am good without.

Sorry about my rant... I haven't enjoyed my mall experiences lately... If you couldn't tell...

Design on a dime

We (meaning my parents) painted over the crazy pink paint in our office/craft room. I only wish I had remembered to take a picture of the room before we moved out our stuff and started painting. Thanks Mom and Dad for coming out and helping! We love you.

Before

After

I love how it turned out. The left side is the office area and the right side is my craft stuff.

Birthday Weekend

My parents came to visit this past weekend for my birthday. We had a blast and it was SO hard to let them go this morning. Friday we went to Houston's with my parents and Phil's parents. The food was amazing and we all had so much fun. Then Saturday we packed in lots of stuff. We painted and decorated our office, went to dinner at Rudy's (AMAZING), and saw mall cop (not as amazing, but funny)

This is my cookie cake my in-laws got me, we really made a dent.

I hope these pictures give you a glimpse of Rudy's. The food was so yummy and we loved the atmosphere.

The trip to Texas...

so we just got Internet this morning so this is a little late but oh well... side note: the pictures didn't turn out very well.. I'm not the best photographer.

We've been in our home about a week now and Phil went back to work yesterday. I am rather bored so I thought I'd update you all on our past 2 weeks.
The road trip:
All I have to say is I don't want to do that drive again for a long time. Even though this trip was better than the one we did in August.

our view the whole drive
My favorite part of the trip was a police officer pulling us over ( we were going 86 in a 80.. eek) and asking us "what's with the Nevada license plates?" Phil's response "um, what do you mean?" my response "you mean Utah?" the officer then agrees with me and says I'll give you a warning this time.. I think Phil was trying not to be smart and correct him. I was too confused to think otherwise.

I wore my glasses on the trip but forgot about the sun problem.. these are two of my inventions to see and block the sun at the same time.. goof

The House:
We started moving our stuff in last Monday and Phil had the whole week off which was awesome. We had so much fun getting settled and spending time together. I haven't done much decorating and I need curtains and such in the rooms but here is a preview of the inside of our home.

It's so fun being in the house. I can't wait until I can actually decorate it. It'll probably be a while until that happens though. Please excuse the nasty brown curtains in our bedroom.. the house came with them (ha ha).

I hope that gives you a good glimpse of our house. I didn't bother taking pictures of the 3 extra rooms because they are a mess. There is a guest room, office/ craft room, and the last room is just full of boxes.
