finishing touches...

Living in Texas I felt it appropriate to have our guest room decorated in TX/ patriot decor. I guess you could say it's Americana with some Texas touch. Anyways, I have had it this way for the past year and have cute decorations around the room that go with the theme but have felt like the room was missing something. I found this tutorial and fell in love. Instead of using frames and batting like the tutorial suggests I got art canvas on sale at Hobby Lobby and found it really easy to do. I think I had this project done in less than 30 minutes.
I love little projects like this that are so easy and satisfying. Now if I could get the confidence to finish baby's quilt. Brittany helped me piece all the squares together while in town and now I just need to sew the rows together, add borders and then do the backing... which is kinda intimidating. Baby boy will be here in around 2 weeks and I had hoped to finish it before his arrival. Wish me luck and that I will find some motivation.

Spoiled!

My fun friends threw me a darling baby shower last weekend here in Texas.
The decorations, food, and party favors were amazing. They had a baked potato bar and yummy fruit pizzas (potatoes and fruit= my favorite foods).
Grandma and Brittany were visiting from Utah. It was so nice to have them at the shower!

I am so blessed to have so many friends and my sweet Mother-in-Law close by.

Grandma and Brittany were in town for 6 days! We had a blast. We went shopping, got pedicures, ate at a few Texas restaurants, introduced them to Blue Bell ice cream, napped, watched movies, and they helped with some last minutes nesting.

Pedicures were both relaxing and alarming. I had to turn off the massage chair because I felt like was going to go into labor haha. I bet you can tell which foot is from a swollen pregnant lady. My poor feet are falling out of my flip flops. I cannot wait to slip on a different pair of shoes!
Picture at Goodson's to prove to my Dad we went ( he LOVES that place). Rosie was so spoiled by two dog lovers. She keeps looking for them around the house as if they are hiding from her. Poor dog got used to all the pampering.
Belly shot for my mom. I couldn't bare to have my face included lol, too swollen.

Last but not least, Phil came home from work with all of this...
His coworkers threw him a baby shower! How cute is that?!?

Thanks for all the love everyone has shown us while we prepare for the birth of our baby boy. You all are too kind and we are truly spoiled.
